12. AFAIK Closure Compiler's ADVANCED mode is the only game in town if you want global dead code removal (aka tree shaking) and optimization. Which is why projects like emscripten and ClojureScript, and Dart javascript translator use it. answered Nov 28, 2011 at 16:34. John.

The compiler or interpreter should be easily available as a pre-compiled binary that can be downloaded and installed by a beginner. He should be able to write simple standalone JavaScript programs that are compiled with this compiler. Additional JavaScript libraries, frameworks, IDEs and debugging support that would work with this compiler ...

Because the Compiler does not repeat the translation for each pass through in that loop, the code generated from it is actually faster. And these sorts of edits that Compilers do are called Optimizations. Thus Javascript combined both Interpreter and Compiler to get the best of both the world. So Browsers started mixing compilers called JIT ...

Compiler: A (core) module part of the language runtime which 'converts' a set of expressions expressed in the language whose compiler the module is, into a set of instructions native to the architecture where the expressions are run against. Standard Node.js is built against V8, which compiles every Javascript code snippet into native instructions.

So you need to do the following steps: gpp -o _script.js script.js (where _script.js - your source file with preprocessor commands) (OPTIONAL) minify script.js (using google closure compiler, etc.) deploy script.js to your web folder. In this case you'll get the most optimized js code.

Adobe AIR's AOT compiler for iOS statically compiles a superset of JavaScript called Actionscript 3.0 down to ABC bytecode, then machine code through LLVM. If you were to write your AS3 code without classes and without type annotation, it would essentially be JavaScript, and then the compiler would happily compile it down to machine code.

It's a bi-directional bridge that lets you use JavaScript code from Python, and vice-versa. That means that Python code can call JS callbacks, and JS code can call Python callbacks. Access Python from JS, numpy + matplotlib example, with the ES6 import system: import { py, python } from 'pythonia'.

7. Yes, but there's a lot of work you'd have to do. Just like a real compiler, you'd have to parse the code, convert it into intermediate code, etc. After that, you'd have to simulate the environment including all of the runtime libraries included with those languages. In short, it's not practical, but it is possible. answered Sep 8, 2011 at 5:35.

2. JScriptSuite - compiles MSIL (C# or another .NET language) to JavaScript. Allows debug original .NET (C#) code, provides databind templates, remoting interfaces, controls. answered Jul 14, 2015 at 21:06. user2252545.

I don't want to run it in a browser. If Inseect nodejs, compiler errors are not reported (at least, I can’t see the in the output - oddly, if I select the output windows, CTRL-A, CTRL-C, and paste in the editor, the errors are pasted. What the hey. –
