Open device manager by right-clicking the Windows logo then click device manager. In the device manager, click the view tab then click show hidden devices. Now double-click mice and other pointing devices to expand it. After expanding it, right-click and click uninstall device on all entries you see below it. Repeat the process to Keyboards.

2. In case anybody still struggle with this, Microsoft PowerToys provides a powerful tool for this. You can map any keyboard combinations to control Media (Play/Pause, Volumn up/down/mute). I mapped Ctrl+Alt+Home for Play/Pause, Ctrl+Alt+Up/Down for volumn Up/Down and very comfortable with it. Hope it helps.

10. The bios swap for the function and ctrl keys is now implemented by Lenovo! If you have a newer Lenovo laptop (mine is a thinkpad x201), you can find the option to switch them under the"configure keyboard and mouse" options.
